Top 10 Most Evil Undertale Characters

The Top Ten
  1. Frisk

Frisk is the main protagonist in the 2015 RPG Undertale, created by Toby Fox. They are the eighth human to fall into the Underground and serve as the player's character throughout the game. Frisk's name is only revealed at the end of the True Pacifist Route.

Frisk, like most video game characters, is the embodiment of neutral because it depends on your choices whether you are kind or murder monsters. So, Frisk should be in between the slightly good and slightly bad person.

Everyone keeps blaming Chara. "Oh, Chara made Frisk kill Papy! I totally didn't kill him with the tough glove!" (I actually heard one of my friends say this.) Dude, we don't even meet Chara until after the genocide run. They also try to stop you in a few spots. If it was up to me, Chara would be a lot more like a "Guardian of the Underground." So stop saying they're evil just because you don't want to take the blame. Chara's innocent, but you aren't.

  2. Flowey

Flowey is a character in the RPG Undertale. He is the first character you encounter and initially presents himself as your friend. However, his true nature as a manipulative antagonist is soon revealed as the game progresses.

This guy is evil. It's kind of obvious. It is because he has no soul, but that gives him a reason to be evil. It's not a reason against him being evil.

Flowey is... I think pretty evil, but he kinda... couldn't not be evil? I mean, he had no soul, which means he couldn't feel for anyone, so he just pushed them away from his life. Plus, as the game said (I think XD), the more you distance yourself, the easier it is to hurt people.

Flowey started to distance himself, and his curiosity took control of him. He said in the genocide route he wanted to know what would happen if he killed them... and... uh... I'm rambling, aren't I...

  3. Chara

Chara is a character in the game Undertale by Toby Fox and is one of the seven humans to fall into the Underground before the protagonist. The name Chara is chosen by the player at the start, though it is later revealed that this name actually belongs to the first fallen human. During the Genocide Route... read more

I will say that this is a very controversial topic, but Chara is a really bad kid, genocide or not. Chara hated humans and wanted them all to burn, which is already pretty bad. The Genocide Route is where things get complicated. Some people say Chara is "corrupted" by Frisk or The Player, but what we do know about Chara is bad.

I feel like she actually should've been number 1. She takes over Frisk's soul entirely. And you should know what happened when she did. She was on a rampage, killing monsters without mercy, and even killed Papyrus, who never threatened to kill Frisk.

She destroys everything no matter how you decide and then steals your soul! She should definitely be number 1, as she is the true Satan of Undertale. She then haunts you for the rest of your time playing Undertale. If you play the pacifist route after doing the genocide route, she brings you into an after-game genocide route and kills all of the monsters just when they've made it to the surface!

She has no remorse for her actions. She is no longer human. She's a demon!

  4. Asgore

Asgore Dreemurr is a boss monster and the king of the monsters in the 2015 RPG Undertale, created by Toby Fox. Asgore is portrayed as the main antagonist, with a plan to collect seven human souls to break the barrier trapping the monsters underground. His character is slowly revealed through hints and... read more

Asgore is kind of evil. He declares war on humans and takes the souls of six humans, with the help of Undyne and possibly some other monsters. He did it because humans had taken everything from monsters, especially Asgore. He lost his son to humans, so he declared war out of anger. He then regrets his actions.

Asgore declares war based on anger, which is something that almost anyone would do in that situation. Really, it's the humans' fault.

He only needs one soul to cross the barrier. Don't you think it's a little suspicious that he goes on to kill five more? I personally think he is doing it for fun, no matter how innocent he seems.

  5. Omega Flowey

He is evil! He absorbed every being in the Underground's soul. He is truly evil.

I mean, I guess he's evil, but is it really his fault? He doesn't have a soul.

Listen to him laugh, do it twice, then come back and vote for him.

  6. Sans

Sans, or Sans the Skeleton, is a character in the 2015 RPG Undertale, created by Toby Fox. He is a lazy, pun-loving skeleton who serves as a supporting protagonist in the "Pacifist" and "Neutral" routes of the game, and a heroic antagonist and final boss in the "Genocide" route. Sans is known for his... read more

He will be as ruthless as Undyne the Undying if you take the genocide route. He is the genocide final boss.

  7. Mettaton

Mettaton is a character in the popular 2015 RPG game, Undertale. He is a robot with a soul built by Dr. Alphys and is the only television star in the Underground. Mettaton is a popular character within the fanbase, known for his flamboyant personality and dramatic flair. His notable features include... read more

While not the most evil character, Mettaton is still pretty bad. He redeems his selfishness after you spare him - or so you thought. In the Pacifist Route, he is still quite selfish, especially in the Mettaton ending, where he turns the entire underground into a totalitarian dictatorship, brainwashing everyone with his TV show. He's bad.

Mettaton tries to kill a child for public fame. If we didn't see his change of heart by the end of his part of the game, he might've been the most evil character in the game. However, he changes his ways and ultimately doesn't kill anybody.

  8. Undyne

Undyne is a main character in Toby Fox's 2015 RPG Undertale. She is the fish-like, armor-clad captain of the Royal Guard, devoted to protecting the monsters of the Underground. Her name is a pun on the word "Undying" and a reference to the mythical water spirit, "Undine."... read more

Undyne is pretty determined to kill a human but hasn't felt the burden of killing someone before. She might change if she did. And she does believe in honor in battle, which is why it pisses her off when you run, lol.

Undyne has no remorse for humans and tries to kill you. Is she evil? No. But she has probably killed at least one human before you. She was just following the orders of her king.

Undyne is just defending the Underground from your shenanigans, especially in the genocide route! The player is the most evil!

  9. Jerry

This monster is the most evil of them all. He's merciless and can murder you with sheer annoyance.

He is the reason everything bad in the universe happens. We must make sure we burn him.

No one likes Jerry because he is evil. Fin.

  10. Alphys

Alphys is a lab-coat-wearing, bespectacled, yellow-skinned lizard scientist who resides in her lab in Hotland in the critically acclaimed RPG Undertale. She watches large amounts of anime and is responsible for major plot developments, including the creation of the robot Mettaton. Alphys also harbors... read more

I mean, she's pretty kind, but I guess she has made some really bad choices to save her reputation, but I don't blame her too much. The Amalgamates were a big burden. But they were already dead? Wouldn't it be better if they were even remotely alive? Why hide it?

I will say that the Amalgamates were an accident, but not telling their families is where this gets bad. I won't say she's evil, but I will say she made some really bad choices.

She reactivated traps that could have killed you and sent Mettaton to torment you, all so you would think she's a good person.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Lesser Dog

Lesser Dog is a character from the indie video game Undertale. He is a member of the Snowdin Canine Unit and becomes increasingly enthusiastic when the player chooses to pet him. The Amalgamates

Amalgamates are a group of characters in the video game Undertale. They are created through failed experiments that combined various creatures, resulting in disturbing and eerie forms. The Amalgamates underscore the game's themes of compassion, the ethics of scientific experimentation, and the consequences... read more

  14. The Contenders
  15. Asriel

I personally don't like Asriel, mostly because he still attacks you even with souls and his compassion. He says it was an accident, but... I don't think so.

He wants to literally reset the world and hold victory right away from you.

Asriel is just like Flowey. He lied to you and tried to kill you at the beginning of the game. Then he absorbed the souls to try to destroy the timeline.

  16. Muffet

Muffet is a character from the game Undertale. She appears in the Hotland area, where she runs a bake sale to raise funds for the spider clan. Her goal is to help reunite the spiders from the Ruins with those in Hotland, as they cannot cross the Snowdin region.

Not completely evil, she does care about her spider friends, but she is stingy with her money.

She was willing to kill a child for money. Plus, all spiders are evil by default.

Muffet traps you and bombards you with spiders. I died at least 20 times to her when I played the game.

  17. Papyrus

Papyrus is a character from the 2015 game Undertale, created by Toby Fox. He is the younger brother of Sans the Skeleton, a Royal Guard in training, and a sentry in the town of Snowdin. Unlike his brother, Papyrus is energetic, loud, and somewhat full of himself, but in an endearing and earnest way.... read more

  18. Mad Dummy

He fires his dummy companions, hires robot replacements, fires them, then throws a knife at you.

You would have been unable to leave if Napstablook hadn't shown up.

  19. Annoying Dog

Toby Fox must be the worst guy in the world!

  20. Heats Flamesman

Heats Flamesman is a character in the video game Undertale. He is a fire-themed monster who resides in Hotland and is known for his memorable line, "Remember my name!" Despite his brief appearance, his quirky nature and unique design have made him a fan-favorite.

He distracts people who meet him by making their brains focus on his name.

  21. Toriel

Toriel is a goat-like monster who is a secondary major character in Toby Fox's 2015 RPG, Undertale. She saves the protagonist from Flowey and guides them through the Ruins, of which she is the self-proclaimed caretaker. She is the ex-wife of Asgore, the mother of Asriel Dreemurr, the adoptive mother... read more

Although she seems nice, she secretly hates humans. When Toriel tells the player to stay there, she has absolutely no intention of returning, leaving the player there to rot. She also refuses to help with puzzles, and despite pretending to be so protective, you still can die in her battle. (You cannot die to Papyrus.)

Very selfish and rude to humans. She doesn't care about humans at all.

  22. River Person

Not gonna lie, River Person is kinda suspicious. The fact he knows about Gaster is a bit unsettling.

He is the only one (besides Sans) who knows Gaster! Isn't that suspicious and evil!? (Please mind my grammar.)

  23. Temmie

Temmie is a minor character from the 2015 game Undertale, created by Toby Fox. She is based on artist Temmie Chang, both in appearance and personality. A mix of cat and dog traits, temmies speak in broken English and live in Temmie Village, which contains the only shop where players can sell items. This... read more

She's definitely hiding something behind that cute smile and improper grammar. We even caught a glimpse of her true self in the genocide route when she says, "You will regret this." A threat in proper English! Not to mention, she basically steals the money you give her for college.

Where do the Temmies even sleep or live? What is that Temmie doing in the wall, just staring at you? Why is the mushroom in so much pain? Why does nobody seem to know where they are or that they even exist? Why are they so keen on keeping their history a secret? If I were you, I'd stay away from the Temmies.

Temmie is not evil! How is Temmie evil...

  24. Napstablook

Napstablook is a secondary character from Toby Fox's 2015 RPG Undertale. He is a melancholic ghost and the cousin of Mettaton, who left to pursue fame. Napstablook is characterized by his low self-esteem and depressive personality, often staying at home and enjoying music.

  25. Grillby

He doesn't say a word. He silently judges and manages to avoid death at the hands of the player and Chara.

  26. Greater Dog

  27. Vegetoid

This plant thing has made a handful of new players quit or give up.

  28. W. D. Gaster

    W. D. Gaster is a mysterious character from the game Undertale. He was once the Royal Scientist before Alphys, but was erased from existence after a lab experiment went wrong. Though not directly encountered in the game, Gaster's presence is hinted at through cryptic messages and rare NPC encounters... read more

From what I see, people should feel bad for him. He's been stuck in the void. I'd understand if he would want to kick my ass because I'll beat him anyway. Wait... I forgot. "How can you kill something that doesn't even exist?"

I used to think Gaster was a nice dadster, but now I think otherwise. His numbers in code were all variants of 666, his followers are all afraid of him, and my headcanon is that Sans and Papyrus were his test subjects.

Honestly, he seems like he's controlling Chara to be evil, but that's just my theory.
